    Silicon carbide drying line

    Project Overview:

    Silicon carbide (SiC) is made of quartz sand, petroleum coke (or coal char) and sawdust as raw material through high temperature smelting by resistance furnace. Silicon carbide is also a rare mineral in nature. Silicon carbide is also called carbon silica. Silicon carbide is the most widely used and the most economical type of non oxide high technology refractory materials such as C, N and B. It can be called gold steel sand or refractory sand. At present, silicon carbide in industrial production in China is divided into two types: black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide, all of which are six square crystals with a specific gravity of 3.20 to 3.25 and a microhardness of 2840 to 3320kg/mm2.

    Overview of equipment:

    Silicon carbide drying line is a new high efficiency fluidized drying equipment developed by our company to overcome static drying, low efficiency and high consumption. In the design process, the characteristics of flow drying such as air drying are fully combined, and the advantages and disadvantages are avoided. The whole machine has reasonable process structure and excellent performance, and achieves the goal of low consumption and high efficiency in fluidized drying.

    The machine has a wide range of applications. It can be used for drying silicon carbide, black silicon carbide, green carbon silicon, black carbon silicon powder, green silicon carbide powder, foam ceramic silicon carbide, refractory silicon carbide and so on. The equipment has high thermal efficiency, low energy consumption, small footprint, simple configuration and convenient operation control.

    Working principle:

    The hot air enters the mixing and drying chamber from the bottom of the dryer at the appropriate spouting velocity from the inlet, which strongly cuts, blows and rotates the material. Therefore, the material is particulated by centrifugal, shearing, collision and friction, thus strengthening the mass transfer and heat transfer. At the bottom of the dryer, the larger wetter pellets were mechanically fractured under the action of agitator. The particles with lower wet content and smaller granularity were entrained by the rotating airflow, and further dried up during the rising process. As the gas solid rotates, the solid inertia is larger than that of the gas phase, and the relative velocity between the two phases is stronger. The heat transfer effect of two phases is changed, so the machine has high drying strength.
